Hornsby Shire Mountain Bike Alliance has been lobbying  the  Hornsby Council to support mountain bike trails in the Hornsby Area and are encountering vocal opposition from various groups including local resident groups, some conservation groups and other community lobby groups. These groups are quite vocal and are willing to turn up to council meetings in support of their anti-mountain biking. Please come along to support mountain biking in the Hornsby area.

Even if you don’t live in the area, we (mountain bikers) can all agree that there are not enough legal mountain bike trails in Sydney and any attempts to reduce the legal trails and halt development of sustainable and responsible mountain biking needs to be resisted, (remember when they tried to stop mountain biking around Manly Dam). Councillors and Councils need support from the Mountain Bike community otherwise the more vocal groups will dominate the agenda and win their preferred outcome rather than helping Councils develop balanced outcomes that take into account all sections of the community.
