Building on from our Phundamentals and Trail Bunnies courses, this women-only course will build your riding skills and give you the knowledge and skills take you to new levels. Whether you are a weekend rider who can tackle some drops/logs, firetrails and/or the occasional techie descent, or a rider who has learnt through necessity by chasing your other half on the trail and now want to refine some technique and maintain momentum .. our Chix at Speed course will teach you the technical aspects of mountain biking without fear of a domestic.
We understand that women don't always have the strength to muscle the bike into submission, and our 'smart riding' philosophy echoes this. We'll focus on your weight distribution, body positioning, bike control and technique so that you learn to ride technical with finesse rather than brute strength. You'll learn that it's about control, dynamic movement and traction, rather than speed and muscling the bike. You'll learn to maintain and manage your speed, read the trail and pick your line, and carry speed through obstacles and corners. All up, you'll come away with a heap more confidence and you'll be riding like you've always dreamed!
How do you know if you're ready for this course? We encourage you not to overestimate your ability - this is a technical course and requires skills beyond the basics. Attendance at one of our Phundamentals or Trail Bunnies courses at least 3 months previously and regular riding will definitely give you a 'yes'. If you haven't done one of these, then you should be able to answer 'yes' to at least 5 of the following skills. If you can't, then you really need to give Phundamentals or Trail Bunnies a run first, (you can always call or email us if you have any questions or are unsure which course is for you).
This course is specifically designed for intermediate female riders looking to improve their technical skills. In a very supportive environment, you'll focus on technique, control and body positioning to bring your riding to a new level. Chix at speed aims to improve your balance, technical aptitude, speed and skills and builds on the fundamental 'Toolkit' to a technical level. A good level of riding experience and reasonable fitness are required to participate in this course, and it certainly is not aimed at the novice rider.
Our professional and friendly trainers are fully trained and are there to ensure you enjoy your experience. For more information on our staff, check out our page.
